Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Knox/Greene/Anderson Co. Connections

Hello All,

Like a number of others. I have been a silent observer of Knoxco-Digest

for three or four weeks. Except today I discovered that someone -

unnamed - forwarded my response to the MCLOUD query - which was okay by

me. We share. That the nature of this endeavor in which we are engaged.

By way of introduction, I am descend from John WALLACE b. 1748,

Rockbridge Co. VA and Jane MILLER, who died from a lightning bolt in

Anderson Co abt 1818. My great great grandmother was Harriet Wood

Wallace -a descendent of Zebedee WOOD - who married Robert Wallace b.

1819. I have most of my information on my WALLACE and WOOD line from a

book prepared by my second cousin Edna Mae Seivers, THE ANCESTORS AND

DESCENDANTS OF ROBERT WALLACE, the only hard copy of which is in the

McClung library in Knoxville. If you can't make a trip to the library

and need information from it, I will be happy to do lookups.

I also have additional information on the following surnames in Greene

and Knox Co.s: ALDRIDGE, BOWLES/BOLES, HARMON, HURT, COBBLE; and in

Bedford Co. VA.: NICHOLS, MORGAN, SAUNDERS. In some cases, my data goes

as far back as the early 1500's although most of that I have from

internet searches.

I'll be more than happy to share what I have. If anyone living in

Knoxville went to high school with Katherine or Jane Wallace who lived

out Dutch Valley way - I can't recall exactly where - and know they're

where abouts, I would like to get in touch with them. I have their

married names but I'm not sure they are still married to the same men.

Any assistance contacting them would be appreciated by private email.

Any one who knew them might remember their pet monkey - that liked to

bite.

Oh, at the risk of giving away my age, I graduated from South High on

Moody Ave. in 1957. South Knoxville was my stomping ground.

Look forward to more Knoxco.-digest postings.

Bob (Another Robert) Wallace
