Did people stay close to the Migration Trails in the = early 1800. am I right in assuming that their were more people where the = trails crossed=20 =20 = Thanks (HELP) William H. Her parents were Edward Routh and Jane Douglas, from Randolph Co. NC Alexander and Rhoda lived in Paw Paw Hollow in Sevier Co. Had 16 children. Alexander died probably in 1851. He was the secretary of the Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church. Rhoda died in 1883.

My maternal grandparents, Lane are from Grainger County in 1880s and = Mathes from Washington Co, TN. MY BRICK WALL James Mathes and Hannah Borden were married in Washington County in = 1866. They are found on the 1870 and 1880 census there. I located = James and his two sons Charles J and David A in the Knoxville City = Directory in 1887. James died in 1904 and was buried in New Gray = Cemetery source Knoxville News Paper. If he had a marker, I cannot = locate it. The records for the Cemetary on his burial do not exist due = to a fire which destroyed there office. James was a brickmason and = contractor as well as his sons Charles J and David A. Sons and = grandsons of Charles J were also brickmasons. I would love to exchange = information with any Mathes researchers. Broadway..Still a driver...in 1917, he was still on Broadway..Disapears after that year.. Info taken from the Knoxville City Directory. Any info appreciated. Probably born about late 1840's to early 1850's. Family records state he was born in Blount County, TN. Any info appreciated.
