I just received this from a wonderful lady who's done a ton of

research. It's kinda long, but there is a wealth of info in it. If any of

Someone just asked me about Lucy Byerley and her relationship to our

family. She was sister of my ggrandmother Margaret Byerley b 1811, dau.

of Mary Moore b ca 1767. Lucy in 1826 married Wm. Watkins b 1805 TN's

(my gggrandf. who m Margaret Byerley) brother Samuel about a year prior

to the marriage of my line and moved w/them all to Chattanooga area

(Ooltewah) during 1840's. Bondsman for Samuel and Lucy Watkins was a

John Neely in 1826 Knox CO, TN. Officiating at wedding John A. Swan,

JP.

I don't quite know how this fits:

Book BB pg 243 Warren C and Lucy W Richmond of Robertson Co, TN to

Archibald D Richmond of Caswell or to John C Richards to sell land adj

to John C Richards, Hamilton et al, it being sixth part of land of

William Moore decd and bequeathed to his daughter Lucy W, including the

tanyard owned by D William Moore 15 Feb 1833

Now we look at John Neelys' file....he bought part of Jarnagin estate in

Jefferson CO, TN. Ben Jarnagin's estate was settled in 5/10/1816

of TN passed at Murfreesborough on the 14th Day of Nov 1823 it is mae

the duty on or before the first of May 1824 all persons claiming land

within the District S of French Broad and Holston and west of Big Pigeon

Rivert, topay to the Treasurer 1/5 part of the whole debt and interest

ascertained to be due and owing after making the deduction allowed and

authorized by said Act, and whereas it is also made the duty of said

persons to pay to the said Treasurer 1/6 of the remainder togerhr w/the

interest theron accrued on the first of May next following the one last
