Hello to the list,
I am looking for the CASH family members in the 1830 Knox Co. TN census..specifically for a John or William. I am hoping to connect with the father of my 2nd Great Grandfather: James Monroe CASH aka "Monroe" b. 1826 East TN. He appears with his mother Mary on the 1840 Meigs Co. TN census before heading West to MO. He came back to East TN with his family about 1860. He enlisted in Knox Co. TN in January of 1862 with the 5th Tennessee Cavalry(McKenzie's), Co. B which was Confederate. He serves with this unit(along w/ Welcker's TN Cavalry) until the War's end and is pardoned in Charlotte, NC...giving his home of residence as Decatur, Meigs Co. TN. Since there are a number of marriages to CASH family members in the 1820's in Knox Co.....I am hoping to find my Monroe's family living there ca.1830 or before. Could anyone do a census lookup for me? I would be eternally greatful for any help. RESEARCHING: CASH, FORD, GIBSON, RENFROW, BLACKWELL, LOONEY, HARDIN? or HARDEMAN Sincerely, Chris Cash ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jun 2000 15:08:12 -0400 From: "Marilyn Montgomery" <mjmontgo@worldnet.att.net> Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Old family song This is a multi-part message in MIME format. - ------=_NextPart_000_0812_01BFD15B.5D037500 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit My father used to sing a wonderful ditty to me when I was a child, and I've often wondered where it came from. I know that his family lived in the Knox County and Smith County areas in Tennessee back in the mid-1800s, and possibly in Kentucky before that. So I thought someone on this list might recognize these lyrics.... "I went down to Woods & Gate, and there I met with an awful fate, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo, kym-a-diddle-i-kayro-kayro-string-string, and a bum-bi-diddle and another bow-ring, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo. First one in was the bumble bee, strummed his fiddle across his knee, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo, kym-a-diddle-i-kayro-kayro-string-string, and a bum-bi-diddle and another bow-ring, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo. Next one in was the butterfly, strummed his wings as he went by, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo, kym-a-diddle-i-kayro-kayro-string-string, and a bum-bi-diddle and another bow-ring, with a rink-tum-mulla-kitcha-kym-bo" Anybody recognize any of this? It doesn't come as an attachment -- it comes as code embedded in a mail message that you open because it's from someone you know, and you don't see "attachment" on it....so you think it's okay. It could, however, be a ticking bomb. If you use Microsoft Outlook, GET THE PATCH PLEASE. If you don't know how to, call your ISP and have technical support help you. Or, join a PC users' group near you and get someone there to help you. If you don't use Outlook, but you communicate with people who do, you're liable to get hit with the virus...although you most likely won't spread it. Read on -- this is from the system administrators of a network that services several thousand mailing list subscribers.
