Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Common Sense, that's me.

Hi Ms. McNamara,

With all due respect, I would like you and the list to know that I do

personally keep my virus software and dat files totally up to date. Are

you specifically implying that someone on our list isn't?

Respectfully,

Patty Brock

Hi, Patty -- I'm sorry if you felt offended. I wasn't pointing fingers at

any one individual or list. I have just spent this week helping friends

get viruses off their computers (one took 5 hours), and I get at least one

(and sometimes as many as six or eight) virus-infected messages a day. All

of them are from genealogy correspondents, as were the messages my friends

received that toasted their computers. It seems we have a lot of people in

the world of Internet genealogy who think computer viruses aren't worth

worrying about.
