Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Knox Co. TNGenWeb queries are down right now...

Hi y'all,

Billie and I (with a lot of help from our server guru) are upgrading the

WebBBS program that supports the Knox County TNGenWeb Query board -- right

now, the query board is down until we finish de-bugging the script.

Don't give up on us -- I really think you'll like the results <g>. The query

board will load MUCH faster -- and the search capabilities will be much

improved.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience ;-)

Subject: [KnoxCoTN] New! Sevier County obits message board

If you look at the Sevier County TNGenWeb site today, you'll see a new

feature! With the assistance of the TNGenWeb technical team, Rachel's

added an Obituary Message Board where visitors can post obituaries of

people with Sevier County connections (born there, died there, or resided

there).

Here's the URL: http://www.tngenweb.org/sevier/webbbs/obits/index.cgi

Enjoy!

Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Updates to Knox County TNGenWeb Query Board - on the road again! <g>

Good morning, y'all!

We've finished the software upgrade for the Knox Co. TNGenWeb Query system

this morning -- please take it for a whirl! If you've not posted your

"brick walls" lately, now's the time to do so! <g>.

http://www.knoxcotn.org/webbbs/queries/index.cgi

The query index list loads much, much faster now (only loads the past two

months) -- however, if you'd like to individualize how many to display, just

click the "Set Preferences" link!

The much-improved "Search" feature can search all queries (the default is

set for 2 months, so be sure to change that if you want to go back further),

and can also search by "any" or "all" word(s) in the search phrase. Also,

you can search for any messages (within the specified time frame) posted by

an individual!

For those who love/depend on "spell-check" before posting their queries --

we've got that, too!

Time's a wastin' -- check it out! ;-)

Rose-Anne (and Miz. Billie)

PS -- We still have a few more tricks up our sleeves - stay tuned <g>.

Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Southern RR log book transcribed

Here's one conductor's log book for one month in 1904. It has a few names,

but it's an neat little capsule of info on the train biz at that

time. They sure did work the men to death!
