My GGGrandfather was James Walker born 1804 in Va., married Mary Ann Wright in Knox County in 1833. Their children were Edmond Harvey born1837 married Nancy Ann Voiles(Viles) in Anderson County in 1858(my direct line), Margaret born 1835 married John Goodman in Anderson County in 1857, Ann F(Amy) born 1845 possibly married a Stansberry in Knox County, William born 1850 and Edward born 1853. They lived in Anderson County and then back in Knox County. James & Mary Ann both died in Knox County sometime after 1870. I can't seem to trace any further back on the Walker or Wright.I would love to hear from anyone that has any information on these 2 names. Thanks ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 May 2001 21:10:53 -0600 From: "Mary Guffey" <maryg@mcn.net> Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Tennessee Roots My brick wall is the family of my husbands gggrandmother. Her name was Sarah and she was a widow when she married his gggrandfather. Her first husbands last name was Scantling, some say his first name was Samuel. Their daughter Mary Little Scantling was born in Knoxville Tn on March 25, 1811, and by 1820, Sarah was living with her children in Floyd Co IN. I keep waiting and hoping that someone may know something about this family in Knoxville in 1811.
