Listers:

I'm Gail Mynatt Zeigler. I was born in Knoxville, brought up in Bristol and

gradually moved south through Georgia and am now in Florida. Hill gal in the

flatland.

Besides MYNATT (in which I am always interested), my Knox County surnames are

HENSLEY, CORUM, WRIGHT, FOSTER, WILSON, and many of those other old time

families long residing near the Grainger/Union line that are so interestingly

intertwined. It is of great fascination to track most of these families

through Virginia and into Tennessee, following each other from place to place.

Let me hear from you!

Gail

While searching the internet for resources I inadvertantly typed us genweb

into my netscape url window and this was the end result. It is a pretty

long list and may be of use to you or the group.

Billie, as with everyone else who receives news letters from you and the

organization, I want to personally commend you on the fine work you are

doing. Too often people, myself included, fail to realize or express the

commendable work that others are doing on their behalf. Thank you for being

there and doing a lot more than expected of you.

Ps. Don't remember where I got this but it may be of some use to you or

<blush> Thanks, John -- but please remember that I just do the list

stuff. Rose-Anne is the power behind the Website. It's incredible how

much effort she puts into Knox County resources, and she doesn't even have

research interests here!

Subject: [KnoxCoTN] my folks

Hi Everyone!

I continue to search for my Ford and Masterson kin of

Knoxville. My great-grandfather was David Murrell

Ford, born 11/28/1900 in Knoxville to David Leonodis

Ford and his second wife, Mary Ann Snavely. Another

son, Harry, was born to them in 1899. David L. was

the son of Knoxville residents Boaz Burit Ford and

Nancy Masterson (parents unknown, father was Aaron,

maybe?) and the widower of Lucy Hutton, by whom he had

three children: Azie, Lucy Belle, and Charles.

Thanks to the generosity of others, I have a good bit

of info on the Ford (formerly known as "FAURE") family

in general, but would love to make contact with any

cousins and share/obtain some more details and

history.

Thanks muchly!

Chaille in Vermont

Hi -

Just wanted to give this URL as a point of reference

for those with Ford family in the McNitt Company.

Wouldn't save as a shortcut - sorry!

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~lawrpaul/ford/

I am related to James, brother of Peter Faure/Ford

whom June mentioned in her earlier posting.
