---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2001 19:17:11 EST From: DCMowery@aol.com Subject: [KnoxCoTN] Intro Hi, to all. I was born in Knoxville and live in NC now. My mother was from Maryville and my father lived in Knoxville. He and several others with connections to our Crockett family are buried in Old Gray Cemetery. I'm interested in the following surnames in the KNOX / Jefferson / Roane / Hawkins / Sevier / Blount Co. areas: CROCKETT-related-- CROCKETT, FLESHEART, WYSONG, WHITE, MARLEY, RENSHAW, PANNELL, BADGETT, JETT, BRAYTON, MILLS, MILNOR, SANDBERG, WOLFENBERGER, WATTERSON, NOEL, BERRY, etc. William Crockett b. 1779 in VA (a.k.a. "Slick Willie") m. Mary Ann Fleshart b. 1795 in VA in Knoxville in 1811. Rev. John McCampbell married them. He is my big, bad brick wall and they are my g.g.g. grandparents. HENRY-related--MCNABB, MCCLAIN, GARNER, KOONTZ, HATCHER, and many others (see HENRY website: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Creek/7299) James Henry b. 1751 in VA m. Jean McNabb b. 1752. They are my g.g.g.g.grandparents. James and several siblings came to the area shortly after the Rev. War. I would love to make contact with anyone related to these families and will be happy to share anything I have with them.
