Knox County. Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church - 1. Does it still exist? Are
records available? 2. My great-grandfather (William Houston Edwards) was
baptized there in 1851, according to papers of the Church found in the Tennessee
archives in Nashville. Also interested in the marriages and/or deaths of several
great and great great aunts recorded in the church or somewhere in Tennessee
after 1850. Names include: a)Sophia Hickman Edwards, wife of Lindsay Edwards; b)
Margaret Hickman, (born c. 1822), daughter of Sophia; c) Jane Edwards, (born c.
1840); d) Mary Ann Edwards, born c. 1828. All of them would have been born in
Virginia. The family moved to Tennessee after 1840, showing up in the 1850
census, Knox County.

Newspaper account and/or obituaries of Drury McMillan and his brother (whose
name was possibly Jeremiah). They operated a general store in Knoxville sometime
around 1870-1890?. The store was robbed and both brothers were shot and killed.
Want to determine date of death and learn any other information about the two
brothers that may have been included in any account of the incident, including
any attempt to find the robbers. Additional information: The 1850 census shows
both Drury and Jeremiah as residents of Greene County. Drury McMillan married
Malvina Kinser in 1841.
