My mother, Rosalie (aka Rosa Lee) McKeehan, was the daughter Wm Marion McKeehan and of Carrie (aka Carre) Carney of Knoxville. Carrie was the daughter of George and Melissa Carney.
My family has a photograph with my mother's handwriting on the back. She identifies the four people in the photo as Uncle Jim Carney, Aunt Minnie Carney Swaggerty, Uncle Earl (?) Carney, and Dora Carney McDowell. Dates of photo and comments are unknown. Carney farm is stated to be still in Anderson County on ________ Carney Road. "Jimmy Carney" may still be alive in Knoxville or Anderson County.
I am just beginning my search of my mother's genealogy. Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.

I too am searching for info on a Shaderach/Shadrack Cash in the Knox & Anderson County areas. I have a Shaderach Cash b. 1827 in TN, his wife Susan was b. 1829 NC. Shaderach is on the 1900 Anderson Co. Fed Census next to his son James W. Cash b. 1865. He married Cora Arms in 1896 in Union Co. My guess is the Shaderach and your Shadrack are probably related....as a lot of the Cash's were living in Knox Co. and Shaderach and his wife Susan had nine children. His son James moved his family to near Joplin, Missouri prior to 1920. I noticed on census records that Shaderach is in Knox county in 1830 and is there in 1850 spelled Shaderick. There is an Elizabeth Cash, head of household in Knox County in 1860. Would be interested in omparing notes. Tom
Gallahar, Lawson, Indian uprising
Sharon Winsatt -- Wednesday, 27 December 2000, at 6:28 p.m.
I'm looking for the parents of Susan Gallahar, born about 1800 who married Elijah Lawson. She may have been born in VA or TN. She lived most of her adult life in Greene County TN and had at least one son, Benjamin Floyd. The neigbors of Benjamin Floyd in Green Co TN were James and Allison Gallahar..born about the same time as Susan. We wondered if James might be Susan's brother. We know there was a large Gallahar family living in Blount County and Knox counties TN but we can't seem to connect her with them. We think Susan may have been a nick name of she may have been illegitimate... Also we heard a story that her family was killed by Indians and that she was raised by someone else..
Please respond if you can help. Thanks
Sharon

Just wondering if you were able to find your Dail/Dale family. Our Barbara Dale married Benjamin Bond in Grainer Co., 1804. Benjamin's father, John, was in Knox Co. as of 1792, Quakers all. Is there a tradition that your Dales were Quaker? Perhaps there is a relationship.

I have a Josephine Jenkins born @ 1854 in Murray Co., GA. I have her married to ? Pullum but I'm not sure this was her first marriage. I only have one child; Columbus Riley Smith. I know Pullum wasn't Columbus Riley's dad...I do know his surname was definately Smith. This probably isn't your Josephine; but I couldn't resist asking.

Bruce, he didn't leave a will. There was a much later Circuit Court lawsuit that identifies a number of his heirs, including his widow Philadelphia and the children of Benjamin's son John Harrison (married Nancy Gordon) of western KY -- and others. He was earlier of Jefferson Co. TN (and surely Cocke Co. as well), but was born in VA, a son of William Harrison. What are you trying to track here? --Carl
