PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING EMAIL I RECEIVED IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME IDENTIFY THE LOCATION OF THIS GRAVE PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP....it was at the archives where I found information concerning Elisha's burial site. The source indicated that he was buried in the national cemetery in Knoxville. And I believe it even gave a grave number. But after considerable searching (last May) we found his burial site at a small cemetery that was private when he was buried and in fact still is. The cemetery is surrounded by at least a 12' fence and virtually impossible to get into(well at least for most of us). The people responsible for the cemetery could not find the key (a worker had taken it home with him) and he could not be located we had to continue our trip but we will go back the cemetery the next time through that part of the country. We tried to take pictures but it was very difficult due to the fence. We though it was a very beautiful little cemetery probably an acre. Elisha was buried in a common grave with 20 others. I don not know of any details of the fighting around Knoxville andPLEASE HELP!!!
