Surname: Pittman, Mills, Grimaldi
I have searched the Knoxville Archives and U.S. Census's for some record of John Henry Pittman's family. He was born in Knox Co. and would have been 5 to 7 years old at the 1860 U.S. Census. He married Cora Jane Grimaldi in 1875 and stood "bondsman" for Samuel T. Mills when Mills married Cora's sister,Sallie Walden Grimaldi, all in Knoxville. They hosted the Grimaldi family during the civil war; moved to Jonesboro, Tenn. and had a son, Wm. there; moved to Buncombe Co., N.C. and had a child, Cora Henrietta; then on to Rocky Mt. Va. had two children then on to Richmond, Va. where my grandfather, Thomas Grimaldi Pittman was born in 1893. Cora Jane and her sister and her mother Sarah, are buried in Knoxville,(OldGray) So are the Mills family relations in Greenwood Cemetery. I CANT find John Henry or his parents anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this man? There was a John Henry Pittman born about 10 years earlier in Tenn....but is not my greatgrandfather.ANY help or leads would be very appreciated.
