Boyd Family

Posted by Barbara Bartels <bdbarte@pomeroy-wa.com> on Mon, 25 Jan 1999

Surname:

Dear Barbara,

I have an ancestor named James Boyd, who resided in Knox County. He was born just a hundred years before your James Granville Boyd, 31 Jan. 1763, in Lancaster co., PA. James didn't do very well in Knox County, losing his land in a Sheriff's sale in 1816. By 1821, James and some of his family moved to Alabama, and by 1833 to Mississippi. I don't believe any of his children died in Knox County, so perhaps he has no connection to your James Granville Boyd. And as far as I know, none of the descendants married into the Granville family. This is just to let you know that the possibility exists for a connection between the families , based on Location only.

Sincerely, Barbara Bartels
