Edward Price and Sarah Spain
David Galloway -- Friday, 2 March 2001, at 12:55 p.m.

Edward Price was born 1790 and married Sarah Spain in Knox County, TN in 1811. He died in Texas in 1878. Perhaps he was the son of Edward Price who married Judith Webb and died in Knox County, TN in 1833 leaving a will. Unfortunately, the will makes no mention of the younger Edward Price. A search of early Knox County wills is therefore in order.

Re: Rocky Hill, Knox Co,TN
Susan Toole Swan -- Friday, 9 March 2001, at 6:38 p.m.

I am a 7th generation person from Rocky Hill still living on Rudder Lane. I am blood kin to the Rudders (as my father is Jack Rudder Toole),as well as the Duncans,Badgetts, and the Wrights. I have an extensive history of the Rudders with about 400 photo many very old ones on computer. The credit for documentation of the other families goes to Mary Sutton. She compiled the names and histories of the Duncans,Badgetts,Wrights, and many other Rocky Hill's earliest families. What do you wish to do with this history? The Rudders came to Jamestown,VA in 1620.They were in Knox County by 1796. I have their history from then on. I am a direct descendant of Mary Duncan who married Robert Pascal Rudder,my great great grandfather who lived in Rose Cottage at the end of Rudder Lane. His wife,Mary Duncan was the daughter of Caroline Wright ,daughter of Dr. Issac Wright, who married James Ducan. I have Civil War letters written by Robert Rudder to his wife ,Mary Duncan ,while living on Rudder Lane.I have collected many old photos from our Rudder Family.
You may email me with your phone number and purpose for this request. I am planning to donate everything I have to the ETHS.I have been collecting since I was a teenager. When I got a computer about five years ago, I compiled my photo and data. Please contact me via email. You can reach me at swanphilsu@gateway.net

Laura J. Clemmons and Simeon Polk Smith are my wife's great grandparents.

Interestingly, we now live in Clemmons, NC - a town named for one of the original settlers, Peter Clemmons (1749-1815). I have been trying to determine if this Peter Clemmons is related to the Clemmonses of my wife's family. Much is known about him and his descendants and so far I don't see a connection. That doesn't rule out a collateral line originating with any of his siblings or forebears, about which I know nothing.

Kathleen
I have already e-mailed you but thought I would add some info here in hopes of finding more descendants. One note of correction, Alexander and Catherine were married on 6/29/1799. It being one of the oldest recorded marriages in TN. Does this mess up your line? Also note that their oldest daughter, Jane (my gg-grandmother), was born on 4/18/1799, two months before they were married.

Dottie
Do you have an Issac Baker in your line? I had a g-aunt, Eliza Ellen Smith b. 7/31/1827, who first married a Joseph Pyatt, who died at the beginning of the CW. Eliza Ellen then married Issac Baker on 1/5/1864, in Knox Co. One of her daughters, Mary Matilda Pyatt, married Issac's son, Rufus Baker on 9/1/1867. Mary and Rufus had at least one son, Joseph L., b. 1871.

Re: Tenn Search - Morrison, Douser, Doreser
Randy Cannon -- Tuesday, 27 March 2001, at 7:57 p.m.

Eric,

I am wondering if you are related to Joseph N Adams. A Bobby Harwood
gave me his e-mail address concerning Morrison, Harwood, Davidson he posted in 1999 for the same Mary Ann Morrison. His e-mail address isn't correct or he may have changed it so I haven't been able to contact him for info. She was married to my gggrandfather James Harwood, as her first husband. Their son James is my ggrandfather. I had just located James and Mary last week and I am looking for any Harwood ancestry you may have come up with or any other info you have on Davidsons, who I assume were brother/sister and married James and Mary's other children John and Sarah?
I had found on family search-ancestral file Mary's parents listed as
William Morrison and Elizabeth. If this in incorrect I would appreciate the correct info. Also where is Market Lake Idaho where Mary died. I live in Salt Lake and haven't heard of Market Lake.
Thank you, Randy Cannon
