Am looking for info on great great grandfather Dr. Lewis WIlls. We know his parents came from Knoxville and believe he was born here also. He also had a brother who was a Doctor and the grandfather of the country singer Bob WIlls. Lewis WIlls was born February 10. 1816. Lewis Wills married Mary Jane Spann or Mary Jo Spann. I am looking for parents/origin of Ebenezer BYRAM, Sr. Records indicate that BYRAM is one of the first families of Washington Co., NC > then TN > then Greene Co., TN > then Knox Co., TN. I have been unable to trace beyond this locale. Possible arrival to area c. 1770, as he is shown to have claimed land due to participation in Rev War. Tax records show him in Knox Co., TN in early 1800s. Daughter is Huldah BYRAM. Records suggest he was born in 1743, but I can't confirm this. Apparently, he died in 1828 and is buried near is home in Knox Co. near Bull Run, next to his wife Lydia GUERIN (again unconfirmed). Also may have son(?) Ebenezar BYRAM, Jr. is shown in tax records. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have exhauseted my available resources.

The Carriger'w were prominent community leaders in the early history of Carter County, Tennessee. I am attempting to follow the descendants of Charles and Rebecah Withers Elms who married in Aug. 1785 in NC. Rebecah Withers Elms' father's name was Reuben Weathers: this Reuben W. Elms' name is similar. Charles' will of 1835 in Mecklenburg County, NC mentioned a son named Reuben whose whereabouts was unknown. Looking for a possible link to the following individuals: John William Johnson (1890-1911) was disowned for marrying Dessie Mae Strader (1890-1965). He died as a result of a gunshot wound to the abdomen 1n 1911. He was a molder by profession. Both John William (or possibly William John) were born in Knoxville. John's parents were: George G. Johnson born Aug 1859 in Knox County,his mother was "Nellie" Bice/Bise born Sep 1858 county unknown in Tennessee. Dessie May (his wife father was John Sherman Strader born Feb 1865 in Unknown county (possibly Knoxville) died?, Tenn. Nicknamed Big Dad and a member of the First Lenoir City Baptist Church. Married possibly 1885 to Mattie E. Sherrill born May 1870 at unknown county in Tennessee. Both John Sherman "Big Dad" Strader and Mattie E. Sherrill died in Lenoir City, Loudon County,Tennessee, moving there and living there 40 years ago. I have some family pictures in my possession. I am looking for any infomation on a William Bender,or a Shadrac (James)Bender,1800's era both in or about Knoxville. Also trying to get infomation on a Horce and Benjamin Maynard. Horce Maynard served in the Civil War with the 6th tenn. Insurrgents. Benjamin Maynard's son Horce was a WW1 vet. who was possibly hospitalised in Knoxville after the war. Last known address was on Front St. in Knoxville along with his sister Mamie Maynard Stone and husban one George Stone.

Levi Daniel was born in Blount County, married in 1871 in Loudon County, was living in Knox County in the 1880 Census and purchased land in 1896. This land was located on the borders of Blount and Sevier Counties and the area became known as Brewer Town. Albert later married Deborah A. CATE and the couple went to Knox County. Searching for any information on a Tom or Thomas Rogers. Had a daughter in Chattagonna in the 1900S. Would have been from Georgia Tom had brother named Pete Rogers and sister named Minnie from Ga Tom Rogers lived in the area 1905-1915 or so. Looking for his realatives and what happened to him.
