I have an Alexander T. Ridenour born about 1805 died 1844 married Sara T. Lay born about 1810 died 1849. I have circumstantial evidence that Alexander T's father was Martin Ridenour born 1778 in Maryalnd died 1838 in Clay County, Tennessee and mother was Sarah Clark born in Orange County, North Carolina married 2 May 1799 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Sarah Clark's father was William Clark who died 17 May 1799 in Well's Station, Anderson County, Tennessee when "a band of Indians fired upon Judge Campbell's party killing William Clack. Martin Ridenour, one of the party, had four bullet holes through his hunting shirt." William Clark's widow's name was Lucy. Alexander T. and Sara T. (Lay) Ridenour were born in Campbell County, TN.

Researching Mynatt and Lane families of E Tn, specificially Knox, Union, Sevier, Cocke, and Greene cos. My grandfather, Joseph C. Mynatt, born about 1908, was the son of Julia McMillan and Harry Mynatt. He married my grandmother, Edna Irene Lane, born in 1905, who was the daughter of Harry C. Lane and Julia McMillan. Attempting to find extended family who might have resided in these E TN counties. Also trying to establish the Cherokee lineage of both grandparents. It is said that both mothers (Chandler and McMillan) were 1/2 Indian. Need name of further extended family to verify this. Would appreciate any assistance on this.

HARRIS / LUTTRELL / LISBY ( LUSBY ) / WITT I am looking for the parents of Stephen HARRIS, born 1782 TN, died 1855 in Knox Co. TN. He married Martha Eppes LUTTRELL on 22 March 1808 in Knox Co. He may have had a brother, Abijah HARRIS, who married Martha's sister, Nancy LUTTRELL, on 18 Jan 1804 in Knox Co. Abijah and Nancy were in Rhea Co. TN in 1819. Martha and Nancy LUTTRELL were the daughters of James and Elizabeth WITT LUTTRELL, who came to Knox Co. from Amherst Co. VA. Stephen HARRIS may have had a sister, Lucy, who married Moses LISBY (LUSBY), and lived and is buried near him in Knox Co. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Would like to hear from other Knox Co. or East TN HARRIS researchers or any of the other mentioned surname researchers.

Looking for information on my ancestors ELIAS ELZA BURRIS b.1821 in NC and d. 1850/1851 and is buried in Peyton Carter Cemetery in Strawberry Plains, TN near county border . I am seeking information on the GRADY family of Knoxville. My grandmother ,Annie Grady married John Luther Brooks on 20-Nov-1898 in Knoxville. Both are buried in New Grey Cemetery in Knoxville.
