Mary Ann Rule
Kevin C. Evans --
Saturday, 4 September 1999, at 6:46 a.m.
Sirs,
I have just learned that my ancestor Mary Ann Rule was sister to William Rule of Knoxville Tenn. William Rule was mayor of Knoxville in 1873 and 1898-99. He lived between 1839 and 1928. Civil War officer and editor of the Knoxville Journal + Tribune. The Knoxville county history page states that he was born in Knox county. That isn't consistent with my notes. My family folklore holds that this family was from Pennsylvania, but I have no information to support that. If you can direct me to further information on this family and their ancestors, please contact me.
Thank You Kevin C. Evans Clayblake@yahoo.com

Simonds -- Saturday, 4 September 1999, at 2:10 p.m.
PLEASE HELP --- SEARCHING FOR MY BIOLOGICAL PARENTS
My birth name is Audrey Faye Simonds and I am desperately seeking any information on my birth parents, Arvel Joel Simonds and Junie Ray Smith. I have not seen them since 1956 or 1958 when I went to live with the people who raised me; Joe Gilbert Savley of Springfield, TN, and Frances Lucille Hill Savley of Nashville, TN, whom at the time lived on Hill Street in Jamestown, TN.
My biological parents and the people who raised me all worked at the Harrison Poultry in Jamestown, TN, around the time I was taken. I was taken to be with Joe and Frances in Nashville, TN., by a truck driver named Eugene Starks who also worked at Harrison Poultry, as truck driver.
Unfortunately I do not have much information on my birth parents. My father Arvel was born in Macon Co., NC, and my mother Junie was born in Haywood Co., NC. I was born in Ashville, NC, on March 13, 1953. My name was amended in court on May 15, 1957 to Audrey Faye Savley.
I have included several pictures of me as an adult and as a child, around the time I was taken from my parents. Also included is a picture of me with the people who raised me.
If you have any information on my birth parents, please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you,

FRISTOE - LOVELL
David Bentley
-- Wednesday, 8 September 1999, at 6:14 a.m.
Searching for Rev. Robert Fristoe who died in Knox Co. Tenn. in 1833. He married Elizabeth Lovell in August 1780. Robert was ordained into Cove Creek Church in 1796, and in 1798 into the Mouth Richland Church. Since he was a Bptist Minister I assume that these were Baptist Churches? Then he served 29 years as pastor of the Flat Creek Church. Unable to find burial place of Robert or his wife Elizabeth. Think it possible that Elizabeth died first and then Robert moved to Mo. to be with his children. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

William & Phebe WATTS
Gregg Watts --
Saturday, 11 September 1999, at 12:57 p.m.
Looking to connect with other WATTS' in the Knoxville area who are descended from William J. WATTS, b. in England ca. 1847. He emigrated to Ontario, CAN, about 1866, marrying Phebe Ann CALDWELL there, probably in Woodhouse twp., Norfolk co., ca. 1868. According to census records, she was b. in 1847 in Ontario, to a father from Ireland, and a mother from NJ. They had Emma L. (1869), Joseph W. (1871), William G. (1872), and Phebe J. (1873) before moving to the Ashtabula co., Ohio, area. Walter Albert E. was b. there 2 Oct 1876, followed by Julia Ann (8 Nov 1878-26 Nov 1878), Thomas Charles (9 Oct 1879-27 Mar 1976), and Frank K. (1888-1910). The family spent some portion of the 1890s in Knox co., Tennessee, where Elmor Walker was born (10 Feb 1892-7 Apr 1978). Most of the family was back in Ashtabula county by the turn of the century. William d. in 1909, and is buried in Gageville, Ashtabula co, Ohio. Phebe lived in N. Kingsville, and d. in 1928. She too is bur. in Gageville. I am descended from Thomas Charles WATTS, and have very scant info on the other siblings. Thomas later returned to Tennessee, and is buried in Edgewood Cemetery. Joseph m. Nellie A. CUNNINGHAM. Walter A. worked for NY Central RR, and married a woman named Odie. Frank m. Martha COSNER, died young in Ohio and left her with Edna & Earl. She later remarried, to a man named GARDENER. I believe Earl WATTS may have returned to Tennessee. Elmor m. Mina LAWRENCE, and I believe they lived in Cleveland. I believe the older siblings Emma L., William G., and Phebe J., either died young in the Knoxville area, or married there and remained while the rest of the family bounced back and forth between Knoxville/Ashtabula. Would like to trade any info on the siblings of Thomas Charles, or meet any descendents of William & Phebe WATTS.

You have to go through the card file yourself, but I did it for my family info. Good source.

Thornhill -- Tuesday, 14 September 1999, at 4:29 p.m.
I would like any information from family members kin to brothers Floyd & Gilbert Thornhill. Floyd was my father from whom I was separated as an infant. Floyd was born in approximately 1903 and died approximately 1954. To the best of my knowledge, he was buried in Mascot. I was just informed that Gilbert passed away in the early part of 1999. Floyd was married to Alice Webb, my mother, in approximately 1941. They were divorced when I was an infant, consequently, I was never in touch with my father. Thank you for any help or information anyone can supply.

I am seeking assistance in finding the gravesite of John Phillip Sharrett/Sharrits/Sharitz. He moved his family to Knox County c. 1819 to a farm hoe had bought on the West Fork of Flat Creek from Christian Foust. Before 1821 John died, and I assume he was burried there. His wife and children moved back to Sullivan County. His brothers Conrad Sharrett Jr. and Henry Sharrett (later Sherrod) also moved to Knox County about this same time. The brothers remained in Knox County.

Berry -- Thursday, 23 September 1999, at 1:54 a.m.
I have checked with New Gray Cemetery and they do not have a record of Mr. Meadows burial. Several years ago the New Gray Office burned and with it many of the funeral interment files therefore, there are several sections in the cemetery that have little written records in exsistance. Mr. Meadows record is one that likely was destroyed by the fire.
One suggestion on how to continue your search. Do you have any idea within a ten year span of when he died? If you do then it might be possible to contact some of the older funeral homes in the area. Please leave a post and let me know when you think he may have passed away.

Kathy,
Thank you for your response. Martin Kennedy is said to be my ggggrandfather. He was born abt. 1770. Nothing more is known. I do know of a Martin Kennedy who married Eliza Eblen in the area of Knox County in 1799. My gggrandfather, Samuel Kennedy, was born in 1790. My line probably lived along the North Fork of the Holston River in the late 1790s. There is documentation of several of the Kennedys in the late 1790s in Russell County, Virginia. Their Christian names are common to my later ancestors.
