"Knoxville High School is located on Fifth Avenue.  It serves the City as a senior high school.  A $2,500,000 building program was completed in 1928 and Knoxville now has 44 public schools.  The University of Tennessee, Tennessee School for the Deaf and Knoxville College for Negroes are located here"
